Description
Dwarf Eureka Lemon (Citrus limon Eureka)
A true backyard classic, the Eureka lemon was introduced and grown in California from seeds that were originally imported from Sicily, Italy. The fruit can get quite large and contains a good amount of juice with that strong, tangy ‘lemon’ flavour we’ve come to love. Eurekas also have a decently thick skin which is ideal for zesting and juice has good acidity, making it suitable for cooking, baking, and drink making. When mature, the tree can produce quite heavily with fruit tending to ripen mainly in the winter, though it can spot fruit during the spring and summer as well.
They’re quite a strong grower. even for a dwarf, and they tend to grow relatively upright, reaching up to 3m tall which is quite large for a dwarf lemon. Regular pruning can keep them smaller and encourage a bushier growth habit.
The dwarf Eureka can be kept in a pot, but it should be a rather large one as they can get a little leggy if they don’t have enough room to grow.
We also have larger trees available. Get in touch for details.
