Description
(Citrus sinensis ‘Seedless Valencia’)
Often referred to as a ‘juicing orange’, Valencia oranges really do have an incredible amount of juice in them. Not only that, but the fruit stores amazingly well on the tree with some lasting up to 5 months, so while fruit starts to ripen from late winter, you can leave it on the tree to extend your fruiting season significantly. The variety we typically grow is seedless, which means it’s even easier to juice and snack on. Valencias are a medium to large sized fruit that tends to get sweeter the longer it stays on the tree. They’re the perfect option if you’d like to make fresh orange juice and, when eating these oranges ripe, they basically melt in your mouth.
The tree itself is quite nice-looking with its dense, dark green foliage and compact growth habit. In its lifetime, the Valencia can grow from 3 – 5m tall when living in ideal conditions. As with most citrus trees, you can definitely prune to shape.
If you’ve only got a limited amount of space in the garden or on the balcony and need a good orange all-rounder, the seedless Valencia might be your best bet.
We also have a Dwarf Seedless Valencia available which is ideal for pots and even smaller gardens.
We also have larger trees available. Get in touch for details.
