Description

(Citrus medica ‘Fingered Citron’)

Buddha’s Hand is quite possibly the most unusual looking citrus ever. The fruit has an incredibly unique shape that makes it look a bit like a hand or an octopus. The ‘fingers’ can either form quite splayed open or more tightly closed.  It’s very fragrant and also mostly rind so while it wouldn’t produce much juice, it does make an excellent candied peel or preserve.  The tree has lovely large, grooved leaves and it tends to have a wider growth habit that can be kept in shape with careful pruning. It’s an excellent feature piece for a pot or garden if you’re after something a little different.
