Our Lemon Range
Being so versatile and with the big range of uses, lemons are a must for every home gardener whether in a pot on a balcony or in a courtyard or growing in the backyard. Used in culinary masterpieces from around the world or simply in your gin and tonic or on your fish and chips. If you have the space, why not plant a few different varieties to ensure you have fruit all year round?
(Citrus limon ‘Eureka)
The Eureka is the most popular backyard lemon in Australia. Although a strong grower reaching as tall as 6 metres, regular pruning will encourage a bushier habit that is easier to maintain.
The fruit is large with medium to thick skin and plenty of strong acidic juice making it ideal for cooking or on fish and chips. The Eureka Lemon produces its heaviest crop in winter, but spot fruits throughout most of the year, so you’re nearly always guaranteed a lemon. Also see our Dwarf Eureka Lemon variety.
(Citrus limon ‘Lisbon’)
The Lisbon Lemon is the most common commercially grown lemon in Australia. It is a very vigorous tree, growing up to 7 metres high under ideal conditions in its lifetime.
(Citrus limon ‘Meyer’)
The Meyer Lemon is a smaller sized tree, growing to a maximum of 3 metres, so its a good pot specimen for those gardeners short on space. It produces numerous crops of medium sized lemons throughout the year making it ideal for home gardeners where picking a small quantity of lemons for regular use is highly desirable.
The fruit has softer skin, turning a deep golden colour when ripe. The Meyer contains an abundance of juice that is slightly sweeter and less acidic than other lemons, but be warned using Meyer juice in a cheesecake may prevent it setting! On the plus side, Meyer Lemons are the most cold tolerant citrus. Also see our Dwarf Meyer Lemon variety.
