(Fortunella margarita ‘Nagami’)
Nagami cumquat trees can be quite decorative with their narrow leaf and contrasting orange fruits. The foliage is deep green and can be quite dense when more mature, making it a lovely specimen tree that also provides a cute, zingy little fruit. The tree can be quite a slow grower, reaching about 1 – 1.5m in the ground over its entire lifetime. This makes it ideal for life in a pot where you don’t want it to outgrow the pot too quickly.
It produces small, orange, oval-shaped fruit. The fruit is eaten whole with the inner flesh being quite tart, while the outer skin is very sweet, making it a very refreshing combination of flavours.
